Area Law Enforcement
Roughly 50 vehicles have been marked with what seems to be human blood in the German municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.
Cars, building surfaces and mailboxes were vandalized, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they stated in a official communication.
Law enforcement report they were notified late on Wednesday evening, when a man discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued liquid.
The liquid had been placed in the form of a swastika, they stated.
Law enforcement then found numerous other marked vehicles and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.
These symbols are illegal in Germany under laws prohibiting the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.
Police say early analysis show the liquid was most likely human blood.
"Currently there is no indication as to its origin; investigators are currently not cognizant of any physical harm in association with the event," they added.
Local authorities stated they were attempting "to unravel the mystery" and have requested to the community for details.
A senior representative commented the attack made him stunned and required to be resolved rapidly.
"This event affects the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the extremist attack in 2020," he posted on social media, mentioning the murder of nine individuals by a gunman focusing on individuals of immigrant origin in 2020.
